I have carefully considered your appeal to waive the Faculty ruling that you be €œRequired to Withdraw for One Year€. After reviewing your file, I have decided to grant your request and to drop CISC 101, STAT 263 (F 2017) and ECON 110, MATH 111 (FW 2017-18) past the academic deadline.
Note that any change in academic registration may impact government or private-firm student financial assistance eligibility and/or funding. Please consult with the Student Awards Office, Office of the University Registrar, Gordon Hall, to understand the potential implications of changes to course or program registration and/or the consequences of not successfully completing the required course load.
I have granted this appeal based on the severity of your extenuating circumstances but need to warn you that the appeals process is not meant to be used to manage a chronic condition and appeals to drop failed courses or change low grades to Credit will likely not be granted in the future if they are based on the same circumstances. I understand that such health issues compromise academic performance. However the way to manage this is to seek Academic Counselling at week 7 and evaluate your progress at week 8. If you are not keeping up with readings, assignments and tests due to circumstances beyond your control, the appropriate remedy is to drop the courses(s) by week 8. Appeals for Credit and late drops are generally reserved for those who encounter problems after week 8 or whose problems become more acute.
