Dear Ms. Qi:
I have carefully considered your appeal to waive the Faculty ruling that you be Required to Withdraw for Three Years. After reviewing your file, I have decided to grant your request based on your significant progress and for being proactive in taking advantage of the many services available at Queen€™s to aid you in your studies. You may now resume your studies at Queen's University.
Please read carefully the document to follow this letter. It contains important information concerning your current academic standing. If you have any questions about the information, please contact the Faculty Office to schedule an appointment with an academic advisor.
Upon returning to a regular course of study it is your responsibility to choose courses carefully, continue to seek out the advice necessary to improve your academic performance, and maintain a GPA consistent with the requirements for successful completion of your plan. I hope that you will continue to take advantage of the variety of the additional support services available to you at Queen's as needed.
Going forward, you should pause to reflect on your progress and assess whether you are actively engaged and attending classes, completing your readings and assignments during week 7 & 8. If not, you should drop any courses in which you have fallen behind in by the end of week 8 (the drop deadline). Appeals for late drops are generally reserved for those who encounter problems after week 8 or whose problems are more acute and is not meant to manage ongoing conditions.
Congratulations on your progress to date, you have come a long way and I am thrilled to see that you have made such good academic decisions
Yours sincerely,
Johanne Bénard, Ph.D.
