Dear Ms. Aman:

I have reviewed your appeal to receive Credit standing in SOCY 403 (W 2018) as well as change the grades you received in SOCY 363 and SOCY 300 (W 2018) to Aegrotat standing. After careful consideration of the documentation you submitted and the information supplied by the instructors about the circumstances surrounding these courses, I have decided to grant your appeal.

The instructor of SOCY 363 has submitted a replacement grade based on the work you have completed, which will appear on your transcript as a B along with the notation €œAegrotat: estimated grade€. The instructor of SOCY 300 has submitted a replacement grade based on the work you have completed, which will appear on your transcript as A along with the notation €œAegrotat: estimated grade€. Your grade in SOCY 403 will appear on your transcript as CR.

Note that any change in academic registration may impact government or private-firm student financial assistance eligibility and/or funding. Please consult with the Student Awards Office, Office of the University Registrar, Gordon Hall, to understand the potential implications of changes to course or program registration and/or the consequences of not successfully completing the required course load.

I am confident that in the future you will make every effort to inform yourself of the academic regulations concerning deadlines as they are outlined in Important Dates Section on the Arts and Science web page. These deadlines have been established by the Faculty of Arts and Science to provide students with the opportunity to drop courses up to Week 8 should circumstances beyond their control compromise their studies.

Yours sincerely,

Johanne Bénard, Ph.D.
