I have carefully considered your appeal to drop GPHY 102 (W 2017) and ECON 111, STAT 263 (F 2017) past the academic deadline and receive Credit standing in ASTR 101, GEOL 104, GEOL 106 (F 2016) and BIOL 103, ECON 112, HLTH 102 (W 2017). After reviewing your file, I have decided to grant your request. Your grades in ASTR 101, GEOL 104, GEOL 106, BIOL 103, ECON 112 and HLTH 102 will appear on your transcript as CR.

Note that any change in academic registration may impact government or private-firm student financial assistance eligibility and/or funding. Please consult with the Student Awards Office, Office of the University Registrar, Gordon Hall, to understand the potential implications of changes to course or program registration and/or the consequences of not successfully completing the required course load.

I have granted this appeal based on the severity of your extenuating circumstances and the difficulty you had due to the health issues you described in your letter of appeal. But I need to warn you that the appeals process is not meant to be used to manage ongoing problems. The appeal process is designed for students who encounter problems, or whose problems become acute, after the drop deadline. Instead, I would encourage you to continue to work with QSAS and an Academic Advisor to manage your academics. This could include taking a lighter course load and would include evaluating the impact of your health on your studies prior to week 8 of term.
