Dear Mr. Taylor:
I have carefully considered your request to have your appeal heard after the one term deadline for submission, and have decided, based on the circumstances you refer to in your letter of appeal, to waive the timeline. You may now proceed with your planned appeal.
Please be advised that your planned appeal may request late drops in the courses you have identified. It is not possible to appeal for extensions of Incomplete grades in those courses at this late date. I suggest that you include an academic plan as to how you will complete your degree. If you need help with that plan, please contact an Academic Advisor for assistance. An appointment can be made by calling 613-533-2470. Furthermore, please ensure that when you submit your planned appeal, you include documentation that covers the time periods of the courses you will be appealing to drop as well as the severity and impact that your circumstances had on your studies during those specific periods.
Please access on the on-line appeals system at: http://www.queensu.ca/artsci/help/academic-appeals/online-appeal-submission After you enter your NetID and password you will now have a new appeal option called €œSubmit a Late Appeal€. Choose this option and follow the steps. Your appeal letter should explain the extenuating circumstances concerning these particular courses, and include any relevant supporting documentation that wasn€™t included with your prior appeal. There will not be a fee for this new appeal, as it will be considered an amendment to your one term deadline appeal so the system will skip over the payment step.
Sincerely,
Johanne Bénard, Ph.D.
