Student Name: Diana Ingham
Student Email: 16di@queensu.ca

Course: PSYC 100
Term: Summer
Year: 2018
Category: Drop a course after the academic deadline

Dear Ms. Ingham:

Further to our meeting on October 1, 2018 I have reviewed your appeal to drop PSYC 100 (S 2018) as well as change the grade you received in PSYC 215 (W 2018) to Aegrotat standing. After careful consideration of the documentation you submitted and the information supplied by the instructor about the circumstances surrounding this course, I have decided to grant your appeal.

The instructor of PSYC 215 (W 2018) has agreed to a replacement grade which, based on the fact that you were unable to complete the final summative assessment, will appear on your transcript as an CR along with the notation €œAegrotat: estimated grade€.

Note that any change in academic registration may impact government or private-firm student financial assistance eligibility and/or funding. Please consult with the Student Awards Office, Office of the University Registrar, Gordon Hall, to understand the potential implications of changes to course or program registration and/or the consequences of not successfully completing the required course load.

I am confident that in the future you will make every effort to inform yourself of the academic regulations concerning deadlines as they are outlined in Important Dates Section on the Arts and Science web page. These deadlines have been established by the Faculty of Arts and Science to ensure a fair and equitable treatment of all students providing them with the opportunity to evaluate their progress and make informed decisions regarding dropping courses when life circumstances affect their studies.

Yours sincerely,

Jill Atkinson, Ph.D.
