I have carefully considered your appeal to receive Credit standing in BIOL 201, BIOL 243 and CHEM 211 (F 2016) and Drop CHEM 212 (F 2016). After reviewing your file I have decided to deny your request.
As you know, courses must be dropped on SOLUS within the published deadlines and Academic Regulation 10.3.2. states that, Credit standing in a course is reserved for situations in which a student, who has completed and passed all of the work of the course including the final examination, but because of illness or other extenuating circumstances beyond their control, earned a substantially lower grade than might have been expected, normally a grade of C or lower€. Credit standing is only granted in cases where there are well documented and unforeseen extenuating circumstances outside of a student€™s control.
Your appeal does describe circumstances that are extenuating in nature and which were considered in your previous appeal to drop GEOL 200 (2016). However, this current appeal does not address how these circumstances have been affecting other courses taken in the same term. In fact, because you have not provided any new evidence that would speak to the specific impact these circumstances had on these other courses and given that, according to regulation 3.2.2.5, students are not able to revisit the same period in subsequent appeals, I must deny your appeal.
If you wish to appeal the Associate Dean€™s decision to the Board of Studies, you must submit an appeal to the Board of Studies within 21 days of the date this decision was sent.
