Dear Ms. Dickenson:

I am sorry to hear that you have been dealing with some factors that have had a negative impact on your studies during the Fall 2018 term. After reviewing your appeal to request credit standing in POLS 280 (F 2018) and SOCY 275 (F 2018), I have decided to grant your request. Your grades in POLS 280 and SOCY 275 will appear on your transcript as CR.

I have granted this appeal based on your extenuating circumstances. But I need to warn you that the appeals process is not meant to be used to manage ongoing problems. The Appeal process is designed for students who encounter problems, or whose problems become acute, after the drop deadline. Instead, I would encourage you to work with your medical professionals and an Academic Advisor to manage your academics. This could include taking a lighter course load and as well as evaluating the impact of your health on your studies prior to week 8 of term.

Yours sincerely,

Jenn Stephenson, Ph.D.
Associate Dean (Studies)
