I was sorry to read of the health challenges you had during the 2017/2018 academic year. No doubt it would have been a challenge for you to be successful in your slate of courses during that time. I have carefully considered your appeal to drop ECON 212 (F 2017), ECON 222 & SOCY 211 (W 2018) past the academic deadline and receive Credit standing in ECON 241, SOCY 275 (F 2017) & ECON 239 (W 2018). After reviewing your file, I have decided to grant your request. Your grades in ECON 241, SOCY 275 and ECON 239 will appear on your transcript as CR.

I have noted that your grades have improved this year Amanda and am pleased to see that the care you are receiving has led to a positive outcome. It does indeed take time to turn things around and you have done a great job in doing so. I do want to remind you however that the appeals process is not meant to be used to manage ongoing problems but is designed for students who encounter problems, or whose problems become acute, after the drop deadline. Should you feel that additional support is needed in the future, I would encourage you to consider contacting QSAS who may be able to help you manage both your health and academics.

Note that any change in academic registration may impact government or private-firm student financial assistance eligibility and/or funding.
