Dear Mr. Paletta:

I was sorry to have read in your letter of appeal that you have experienced challenges this term regarding your health. No doubt the circumstances you outline have impacted your studies. I am pleased to have read that you are looking forward to receiving treatment from various health care professionals. Based on the circumstances outlined as well as well as your documentation, I have decided to grant your appeal to drop DEVS 100, RELS 131 (F/W 2018-19) and ITLN 111 (W 2019) past the academic deadline.

Lucas in your letter you mention that you are nervous about your academic future. Let me assure you that when you are well enough to resume your studies, you will be able to continue to pursue you€™re your academic goals. Dropping courses at this juncture is in fact a good academic decision and will allow you to take the time you need to tend to your health. You have no reason to be disappointed in yourself but should take pride in the fact that you have sought out the help and support you require at this time.

Upon your return to Queen€™s, I encourage you to discuss your academic goals with an Academic Advisor and to register with QSAS who may be able to assist you with ongoing accommodations to help support you in your courses.

Note that any change in academic registration may impact government or private-firm student financial assistance eligibility and/or funding.
