Dear Ms. Quin:

I was sorry to read of the health related challenges you have faced in pursuit of your university degree and am sure the circumstances have been difficult to cope with. I have reviewed your appeal to drop GPHY 339, GPHY 362, GPHY 228 (W 2018); change the grades you received in FREN 241, GPHY 243, GPHY 318 (F 2017) to Aegrotat standing; and extend the Incomplete grade in GPHY 403 (W 2018). After careful consideration of the documentation you submitted, I have decided to grant your appeal.

The instructors have submitted a replacement grade based on the work you have completed as follows:

FREN 241 (F 2017) will appear on your transcript with a grade of A- along with the notation €œAegrotat: estimated grade€.

GPHY 243 (F 2017) will appear on your transcript with a grade of B along with the notation €œAegrotat: estimated grade€.

GPHY 318 (F 2017) will appear on your transcript with a grade of B- along with the notation €œAegrotat: estimated grade€.

You are permitted up to April 30, 2019 at the latest to complete the outstanding work in GPHY 403 and it is your responsibility to contact Professor Mabee to make the appropriate arrangements.

I encourage you to continue to seek support from Student Wellness Services and your QSAS Advisor to help you manage your health as well as your Academic Advisor who can help you manage your course load. I would also suggest that you evaluate the impact of your health on your studies prior to week 8 of term and to drop courses if necessary at that time.

Note that any change in academic registration may impact government or private-firm student financial assistance eligibility and/or funding. Please consult with the Student Awards Office, Office of the University Registrar, Gordon Hall, to understand the potential implications of changes to course or program registration and/or the consequences of not successfully completing the required course load.

I do hope your current courses are going well and that it is a good sign you are doing well since you did not drop your courses this term by the drop date.

Yours sincerely,

Jenn Stephenson, Ph.D.
