Appeal Number: 5498
Decision Date: April 12, 2019
Associate Dean: Jenn Stephenson, Ph.D.
Student Name: Sam Williams
Student Email: 16sctw@queensu.ca
Course: CHEM 223
Term: Winter
Year: 2019
Category: Drop a course after the academic deadline
Dear Sam Williams:
I was sorry to have read in your letter of appeal the health related difficulties you have experienced recently. No doubt they have impacted your studies this term so, have decided to grant your appeal to drop CHEM 223 (W 2019) past the academic deadline based on those circumstances.
Note that any change in academic registration may impact government or private-firm student financial assistance eligibility and/or funding. Please consult with the Student Awards Office, Office of the University Registrar, Gordon Hall, to understand the potential implications of changes to course or program registration and/or the consequences of not successfully completing the required course load.
I have noted that appealing to drop this course was a difficult decision but am pleased to see that, after consultation with your therapist, you made a good academic decision to lighten your course load and drop this course at this time. I sincerely hope that you can now focus on your health and wellbeing for the balance of this term as well as put your academic energies towards your remaining courses.
Yours sincerely,
Jenn Stephenson, Ph.D.
