Decision Letter
Appeal Number: 5509
Decision Date: April 16, 2019
Associate Dean: Jenn Stephenson, Ph.D.
Student Name: Jessica McLean
Student Email: jmmclean20@gmail.com
Course: CISC 101
Term: Winter
Year: 2019
Category: Drop a course after the academic deadline
Dear Jessica McLean:
I was sorry to have read in your letter of appeal the challenges you have experienced this term. No doubt they have impacted your studies so I have decided to grant your appeal to drop CISC 101 (W 2019) past the academic deadline.
I encourage you to follow through with your plans to pursue counselling and suggest that you consider registering with QSAS in the future who can help you manage both your health and your academics. This may include carrying a lighter course load, and would include pausing to evaluate your progress in your courses by week 7 of the term and dropping courses by the week 8 drop date if you have fallen behind.
Note that any change in academic registration may impact government or private-firm student financial assistance eligibility and/or funding. Please consult with the Student Awards Office, Office of the University Registrar, Gordon Hall, to understand the potential implications of changes to course or program registration and/or the consequences of not successfully completing the required course load.
Please note that the DR notation will appear on your transcript when the Winter term grades are released on May 12, 2019.
I wish you well in your recovery and your future courses.
Yours sincerely,
Jenn Stephenson, Ph.D.
