Dear Rhys Adams:

I was sorry to read of the health related challenges you have faced during the exam period which will extend into the summer months. I am sure the circumstances have been difficult to cope with. I have reviewed your appeal to change the grades you received in HIST 121, DEVS 100 (FW 2018-19) and SPAN 111, GPHY 101 (W 2019) to Aegrotat standing. After careful consideration of the documentation you submitted and your letter of appeal, I have decided to grant your appeal.

The instructors have submitted a replacement grades based on the work you have completed as follows:

HIST 121 (FW 2018-19) will appear on your transcript with a grade of B along with the notation €œAegrotat: estimated grade€.

DEVS 100 (FW 2018-19) will appear on your transcript with a grade of A- along with the notation €œAegrotat: estimated grade€.

GPHY 101 (W 2019) will appear on your transcript with a grade of A- along with the notation €œAegrotat: estimated grade€.

SPAN 111 (W 2019) will appear on your transcript with a grade of A- along with the notation €œAegrotat: estimated grade€.

I encourage you to follow through with your plan to continue to seek support from Student Wellness Services to help you manage your health. Going forward, I would also suggest that you evaluate the impact of your health and recovery on your studies prior to week 8 of term and to drop courses if necessary at that time.

Note that any change in academic registration may impact government or private-firm student financial assistance eligibility and/or funding. Please consult with the Student Awards Office, Office of the University Registrar, Gordon Hall, to understand the potential implications of changes to course or program registration and/or the consequences of not successfully completing the required course load.

I wish you well in your recovery.

Yours sincerely,

Jill Atkinson, Ph.D.
