Dear Georgia Pappas:

I have carefully considered your appeal to drop ECON 255, ECON 241 (F 2018) and ECON 255, ECON 212, ECON 250, CLST 103 (W 2019) past the academic deadline. After reviewing your file, I have decided to grant your request.

I have exercised some leniency in this decision, acknowledging the positive step you have taken to seek out support and help from your doctor and sharing your challenges with your family. Going forward, I suggest that you use the supports the university has available including the various health promotion programs offered through Student Wellness Services and consider registering with QSAS for help with both your health and academics. I encourage you to meet with an Academic Advisor during week 7 or 8 of the term and assess whether you are actively engaged in your courses and are completing your assignments on time. If not, you should drop any courses in which you have fallen behind by the end of week 8 (the drop deadline). The appeals process is not meant to manage ongoing conditions.

Note that any change in academic registration may impact government or private-firm student financial assistance eligibility and/or funding. Please consult with the Student Awards Office, Office of the University Registrar, Gordon Hall, to understand the potential implications of changes to course or program registration and/or the consequences of not successfully completing the required course load.
