I was sorry to read of the passing of your brother and certainly understand that you may have struggled to complete the courses you were registered in during that term. I have reviewed your appeal to change the grade you received in RELS 223 (F 2018) to Aegrotat standing and extend the Incomplete grade in RELS 227 (F 2018). I would have preferred that you carry a lighter course load during the Winter term 2019, giving yourself time to complete those courses instead of a full slate of new courses, but after careful consideration of the documentation you submitted and the information supplied by the instructors about the circumstances surrounding these courses, I have decided to grant your appeal.
The instructor of RELS 223 has already submitted a replacement grade based on the work you have completed, which will appear on your transcript as C along with the notation €œAegrotat: estimated grade€.
You are permitted up to September 15, 2019 at the latest to complete the outstanding essay in RELS 227 and it is your responsibility to contact Professor Kelly to make the appropriate arrangements.
