Dear Ms. Cummings:

I have carefully considered your appeal to drop BIOL 316, BIOL 322 (W 2013), PSYC 235 (S 2013), BIOL 201, BIOL 334, BIOL 369, CHEM 281 (F 2013) and BIOL 422 (W 2014) past the academic deadline as well as receive Aegrotat Standing in BIOL 303 (W 2013). After reviewing your file, I have decided to grant your request.

Dr. Nelson calculated your final estimated grade on BIOL 303 and based on the work you completed he calculated your grade as 56. Because this grade appears to be lower than your usual academic performance (in comparison to the grades on your transcript from before and after your illness), I have decided to assign your Aegrotat grade in this course as CR (meaning Credit). Your grade will appear on your transcript as CR along with the ruling €œAegrotat: estimated grade€. This means that you have earned credit for the course and it can be counted towards the requirements for your Degree Plan but it is not included in your cumulative GPA.

I am very pleased to hear that your treatment has been successful and you have made a successful return to studies. I also commend your decision to take one course at a time and gradually increase your load as you adjust back into student life. This is a wise strategy and I hope that you will find it brings you continued success.

Yours sincerely,

Johanne Bénard, Ph.D.
Associate Dean (Studies)
