Dear Lauren Hiscock:
I was sorry to read of the health related challenges you have faced in pursuit of your university degree and am sure the circumstances have been difficult to cope with. I have reviewed your appeal to drop CHEM 211, CHEM 212, CHEM 213, FREN 219 (F 2018), CHEM 221, MATH 112 (W 2019); change the grade you received in PHAR 100 (W 2019) to Aegrotat standing; and extend the Incomplete grade in PHIL 296 (W 2019). After careful consideration of the documentation you submitted, I have decided to grant your appeal.
The instructor of PHAR 100 has have submitted a replacement grade based on the work you have completed which will appear on your transcript with a grade of B along with the notation €œAegrotat: estimated grade€.
You are permitted up to December 31, 2019 at the latest to complete the outstanding work in PHIL 296 and it is your responsibility to contact Professor Tam to make the appropriate arrangements.
I strongly encourage you to continue to seek support from Student Wellness Services and discuss with your Counsellor the possibility of registering with QSAS who can help you manage both your health as well as your Academics. I also suggest that you evaluate the impact of your health on your studies prior to week 8 of term and to drop courses that you have fallen behind in at that time.
Note that any change in academic registration may impact government or private-firm student financial assistance eligibility and/or funding. Please consult with the Student Awards Office, Office of the University Registrar, Gordon Hall, to understand the potential implications of changes to course or program registration and/or the consequences of not successfully completing the required course load.
I wish you well in your studies during the upcoming academic year
Yours sincerely,
Jenn Stephenson, Ph.D.
