I was sorry to read of the health related challenges you experienced last year and I have carefully considered your appeal to drop BIOL 102 (F 2018) and MATH 121, PHYS 117 (FW 2018/19) past the academic deadline. After reviewing your file, I have decided to grant your request.

I encourage you to follow through with your academic plan and to continue with your treatment to aid you in your recovery. Please ensure you assess your progress in your courses and discuss your options to manage both your health and your courses with your QSAS Advisor. Going forward, I am confident that you will make every effort to inform yourself of the academic regulations concerning deadlines as they are outlined in the Important Dates section on the Arts and Science web page. If you find that you have fallen behind in your attendance, readings or assignments, it is your responsibility to drop by the end of week 8. Appeals for late drops are typically only granted when a problem occurs, or becomes acute, after the drop deadline.

Note that any change in academic registration may impact government or private-firm student financial assistance eligibility and/or funding.
