Student Name: Cam Tu Le
Student Email: 17cttl@queensu.ca
Course: PSYC 100
Term: Summer
Year: 2019
Category: Drop a course after the academic deadline
Dear Cam Tu Le:
I was sorry to read of the health related challenges you have been experiencing and I have carefully considered your appeal to drop PSYC100 (S 2019) past the academic deadline. After reviewing your file, I have decided to grant your request.
I encourage you to continue to work with your health care professional and to carefully monitor your course load when you next register in courses. I am confident that in the future you will make every effort to inform yourself of the academic regulations concerning deadlines as they are outlined in the Important Dates section on the Arts and Science web page. Please ensure you assess your progress in your courses and consider registering with QSAS who can help you manage both your health and academics. Going forward, I suggest that you pause and evaluate your progress in your course(s) during week 7 or 8 of the term. If you find that you have fallen behind in readings or assignments, it is your responsibility to drop by the end of week 8. Appeals for late drops are typically only granted when a problem occurs, or becomes acute, after the drop deadline.
Note that any change in academic registration may impact government or private-firm student financial assistance eligibility and/or funding. Please consult with the Student Awards Office, Office of the University Registrar, Gordon Hall, to understand the potential implications of changes to course or program registration and/or the consequences of not successfully completing the required course load.
Best of luck with your future studies
Yours sincerely,
Jenn Stephenson, Ph.D.
