Dear Aman Paulos:

I was sorry to read about the personal loss you experienced and have carefully considered your appeal to drop ECON 222 (F 2017); ECON 222 (W 2018); ECON 212, ENIN 200, PHYS P20 (F 2018) late and receive an extension of your incomplete grades in ECON 243, ECON 250 (W 2018) and ECON 232 (W 2019). After reviewing your file, I have decided the following:

1) To grant your request to drop ECON 222 (F 2017); ECON 222 (W 2018); ECON 212, ENIN 200, PHYS P20 (F 2018) late based on your extenuating circumstances and the documentation you have provided.

2) To grant your request to Extend the Incomplete grades in ECON 243 and ECON 250 (W 2018). I understand you have completed the exams in ECON 243 and ECON 250 so we can now accept the grade changes for those courses.

3) To deny your request to Extend the Incomplete grade in ECON 232 (W 2019) due to the input received from the instructor of this course. I am however willing to drop this course late. Please notify the Appeals Coordinator at asc.appeals@queensu.ca within 21 days if you wish to accept this offer.

I strongly encourage you to pause and evaluate your progress in your courses during week 7 of the term and if you have fallen behind in your course work, you should consider dropping courses by the week 8 drop deadline. That date is designed to provide students with the opportunity to drop courses if extenuating circumstances are affecting their coursework. The appeals process is not designed to manage ongoing health or life conditions but is meant to assist students who experience extenuating circumstances after the drop deadline date.

Note that any change in academic registration may impact government or private-firm student financial assistance eligibility and/or funding. Please consult with the Student Awards Office, Office of the University Registrar, Gordon Hall, to understand the potential implications of changes to course or program registration and/or the consequences of not successfully completing the required course load.
