Dear Erin Lister:

I was sorry to read of the health related challenges you experienced last year and I understand that those circumstances impacted your studies at that time. I have reviewed your appeal to change the grades you received in BIOL 201 and BIOL 205 (F 2018) to Aegrotat standing and after careful consideration of the circumstances outlined, the documentation you submitted and the input we received from your instructors, I have decided to grant your appeal.

The instructors have submitted a replacement grade based on the work you have completed as follows:

BIOL 201 (F 2018) will appear on your transcript with a grade of B along with the notation €œAegrotat: estimated grade€.

BIOL 205 (F 2018) will appear on your transcript with a grade of C along with the notation €œAegrotat: estimated grade€.

I am pleased to see that you continue to carry a reduced course load as this is an excellent way to balance your academics and your health issues. I encourage you to continue to seek support from Student Wellness Services and your QSAS Advisor to help you manage both your health and academics. I would also suggest that you evaluate the impact of your health on your studies prior to week 8 of term and to drop courses if necessary at that time.

Note that any change in academic registration may impact government or private-firm student financial assistance eligibility and/or funding. Please consult with the Student Awards Office, Office of the University Registrar, Gordon Hall, to understand the potential implications of changes to course or program registration and/or the consequences of not successfully completing the required course load.

I do hope your current courses are going well and that it is a good sign you are doing well since you did not drop your courses this term by the drop date.

Yours sincerely,

Jenn Stephenson, Ph.D.
