Category: Drop a course after the academic deadline
Dear Jessica Liu:
I was sorry to read about the difficulties you experienced during the Fall 2018 and Winter 2019 terms and I have carefully considered your appeal to drop CISC 251 (F 2018), CISC 223 (W 2019), and PSYC 352 (W 2019) past the academic deadline. After reviewing your file, I have decided to grant your requested based on supporting documentation which confirms that these courses were impacted by your extenuating circumstances.
I encourage you to continue to work with your counsellor and consider registering with QSAS if ongoing accommodations are required. A QSAS Advisor can help support both your health and academics.
Going forward, I also suggest that you pause and evaluate your progress in your courses during week 7 of the term and drop courses by the week 8 drop date deadline if you have fallen behind or if your health has negatively impacted your studies.
Note that any change in academic registration may impact government or private-firm student financial assistance eligibility and/or funding. Please consult with the Student Awards Office, Office of the University Registrar, Gordon Hall, to understand the potential implications of changes to course or program registration and/or the consequences of not successfully completing the required course load.
Best of luck in your courses this term.
Yours sincerely,
Jenn Stephenson, Ph.D.
