Student Email: 19ac32@queensu.ca

Course: FILM 303
Term: Fall
Year: 2019
Category: Drop a course after the academic deadline

Dear Amber Christenson:

I have carefully considered your appeal to drop FILM 303 (F 2019) past the academic deadline. After reviewing your file, I have decided to grant your request.

I have granted this appeal based on the fact that you were unaware that you were registered in this course and that you did not submit any of the course requirements. Going forward you will be expected to check OnQ to ensure your registration was or was not processed. As you progress with your degree, I suggest that you pause and evaluate your progress in your courses by week 7 of the term to determine whether you have kept up with your assignments, etc. If not, a student may drop a course without academic penalty at the end of week 8.

If you wish to appeal for a tuition refund in this course, you must complete that process through the Registrar€™s office. Here is a link to information about that process and their appeal form:

Note that any change in academic registration may impact government or private-firm student financial assistance eligibility and/or funding. Please consult with the Student Awards Office, Office of the University Registrar, Gordon Hall, to understand the potential implications of changes to course or program registration and/or the consequences of not successfully completing the required course load.

Sincerely,

Jenn Stephenson, Ph.D.
