Course: ARTH 383
Term: Fall
Year: 2019
Category: Drop a course after the academic deadline
Dear Molly Earnshaw:
I was sorry to read about the difficulties you experienced during the Fall term 2019 and I have carefully considered your appeal to drop ARTH 391 and ARTH 383 (F 2019) past the academic deadline. After reviewing your file, I have decided to grant your request.
I encourage you to continue to work with your health care team and to consider registering with QSAS for ongoing accommodations if needed. A QSAS Advisor can help support both your health and academics. Going forward, I suggest you pause and assess your progress in your courses during week 7 or 8 of the term. If you find that you have fallen behind in your attendance, readings or assignments, it is your responsibility to drop by the end of week 8. Appeals for late drops are typically only granted when a problem occurs, or becomes acute, after the drop deadline.
Note that any change in academic registration may impact government or private-firm student financial assistance eligibility and/or funding. Please consult with the Student Awards Office, Office of the University Registrar, Gordon Hall, to understand the potential implications of changes to course or program registration and/or the consequences of not successfully completing the required course load.
I too am proud of the steps you have taken Molly by reaching out for help and taking advantage of all the services available to help you through this difficult period.
Best of luck in your courses this term.
Yours sincerely,
Jenn Stephenson, Ph.D.
