Student Name: Tiana Nguyen
Student Email: 16ttln@queensu.ca

Course: BCHM 310
Term: Fall/Winter
Year: 2018
Category: Drop a course after the academic deadline

Dear Tiana Nguyen:

I was sorry to read about the difficulties you explained and I have carefully considered your appeal to drop BCHM 310 (FW 2018/19) past the academic deadline. After reviewing your file, I have decided to grant your request.

Going forward, you should pause and assess your progress in your courses during week 7 or 8 of the term. If you find that you have fallen behind in your attendance, readings or assignments, it is your responsibility to drop courses by the end of week 8. Appeals for late drops are typically only granted when a problem occurs, or becomes acute, after the drop deadline.

Note that any change in academic registration may impact government or private-firm student financial assistance eligibility and/or funding. Please consult with the Student Awards Office, Office of the University Registrar, Gordon Hall, to understand the potential implications of changes to course or program registration and/or the consequences of not successfully completing the required course load.

I was pleased to read in your appeal letter that you continue to regularly meet with your health care supports and have utilized the various services available to you and encourage you to continue to do so.

Best of luck in your courses this term.

Yours sincerely,

Jenn Stephenson, Ph.D.
Associate Dean (Studies)
