Decision Letter
Appeal Number: 6487
Decision Date: January 24, 2020
Associate Dean: Jenn Stephenson, Ph.D.
Student Name: Sarah Pepper
Student Email: 14samp@queensu.ca
Course: GNDS 215
Term: Winter
Year: 2017
Category: Drop a course after the academic deadline
Dear Sarah Pepper:
I was sorry to have read in your letter of appeal that you had a very difficult year during the period of 2016/17. No doubt those circumstances impacted your studies and I will grant your appeal to drop GNDS 215 (W 2017) past the academic deadline based on that circumstance.
Your grades demonstrate that you are doing much better and I am pleased to see your academic progression. Let me remind you that good practise for all students is to pause and evaluate your progress in courses during week 7 of the term and if you have fallen behind or if your health is impacting your studies, you should drop courses by the week 8 drop deadline date.
Note that any change in academic registration may impact government or private-firm student financial assistance eligibility and/or funding. Please consult with the Student Awards Office, Office of the University Registrar, Gordon Hall, to understand the potential implications of changes to course or program registration and/or the consequences of not successfully completing the required course load.
Yours sincerely,
Jenn Stephenson, Ph.D.
