I have carefully reviewed you appeal to drop CLST 130 (F 2019) late and understand that you are continuing to struggle after the loss of your father. Based on the circumstances you have presented, I will grant your appeal to drop the above mentioned course past the academic deadline.

Ziyang, this is a lenient decision as I can see from file that you reached out to the Academic Appeal office on October 28th and were advised to drop your courses by Friday November 1st. It seems you missed that deadline but going forward, it is important that you pause to assess your progress in your courses by week 7 of the term and drop courses by the week 8 drop date deadline. Appeals are typically granted when extenuating circumstances happened after that drop date.

Note that any change in academic registration may impact government or private-firm student financial assistance eligibility and/or funding. Please consult with the Student Awards Office, Office of the University Registrar, Gordon Hall, to understand the potential implications of changes to course or program registration and/or the consequences of not successfully completing the required course load.
