Dear George Vitsentzatos:

I have carefully considered your appeal to drop SPAN 111 (F 2019) past the academic deadline. After reviewing your file, I have decided to grant your request.

Note that any change in academic registration may impact government or private-firm student financial assistance eligibility and/or funding. Please consult with the Student Awards Office, Office of the University Registrar, Gordon Hall, to understand the potential implications of changes to course or program registration and/or the consequences of not successfully completing the required course load.

I am confident that in the future you will make every effort to inform yourself of the academic regulations concerning deadlines as they are outlined in the Important Dates section on the Arts and Science web page. A good practice for all students is to pause and assess their progress in courses or discuss options with an Academic Advisor during week 7 or 8 of the term. If you find that you have fallen behind in your attendance, readings or assignments, it is your responsibility to drop courses by the end of week 8.

I would also suggest that you continue to meet with a counsellor from Student Wellness Services who can support you through this difficult grieving process.

I am sorry for your loss.

Yours sincerely,

Jenn Stephenson, Ph.D.
Associate Dean (Studies)
