Dear Kaitlyn Sewell:

I was sorry to have read in your letter of appeal that you struggled in your courses during Winter term 2015 due to family and health related challenges. Based on the circumstances outlined and the documentation you have provided, I will grant your appeal to drop ARTH 250, PHAR 100, PSYC 251 and PSYC 271 (W 2015) past the academic deadline.

Kaitlyn, upon reviewing your file I noticed that you were lacking only one GNDS or GNDS_Options course to graduate with your BAH MAJ GNDS. I took the liberty of contacting the Gender Studies Department to ask that they review your transcript to see if there was a course that you have completed that is not on the GNDS_Options list but would be an acceptable course to satisfy your degree requirements. I am happy to advise you that the Department of Gender Studies will approve SOCY 276 as an acceptable GNDS_Option course, thus enabling you to graduate this June with your BAH MAJ GENDER STUDIES.

In order to proceed, you must first submit a Return To Studies Form to the Faculty of Arts and Science Office. Here is a link to that form which should be submitted asap.

You will then need to contact our Degree List Coordinator, Karen Scanlan (karen.scanlan@queensu.ca) and advise her that you wish to graduate at the upcoming convocation ceremony in June 2020. Karen will then advise you of your next steps to apply to graduate.

Note that any change in academic registration may impact government or private-firm student financial assistance eligibility and/or funding. Please consult with the Student Awards Office, Office of the University Registrar, Gordon Hall, to understand the potential implications of changes to course or program registration and/or the consequences of not successfully completing the required course load.
