I was sorry to read of the challenges you experienced to receive timely accommodations from QSAS during the Fall term 2018 and I have carefully considered your appeal to drop ECON 111 past the academic deadline based on those circumstances. After reviewing your file, I have decided to grant your request.

I encourage you to continue to work with your QSAS Advisor as I can see that the support you are now receiving has helped you achieve more positive academic results. Going forward, you should pause and assess your progress in your courses during week 7 or 8 of the term. If you find that you have fallen behind in your attendance, readings or assignments, it is your responsibility to drop by the end of week 8. Appeals for late drops are typically only granted when a problem occurs, or becomes acute, after the drop deadline.

Note that any change in academic registration may impact government or private-firm student financial assistance eligibility and/or funding. Please consult with the Student Awards Office, Office of the University Registrar, Gordon Hall, to understand the potential implications of changes to course or program registration and/or the consequences of not successfully completing the required course load.
