Dear Cooper Lloyd:

I was sorry to read of the difficulties you outlined in your letter and I have carefully considered your appeal to drop CISC 101 (W 2019) and ANAT 100 (F 2019) past the academic deadline. After reviewing your file, I have decided to grant your request.

Cooper, based on the circumstances you have outlined, I strongly encourage you to register with QSAS who will help you manage both your health and your academics. You have made a good academic decision during the Winter term 2020 by carrying a lighter course load and I encourage you to continue to be mindful of the course load that you can manage successfully

Going forward, you should pause during week 7 of the term and if you find that you have fallen behind in your attendance, readings or assignments, it is your responsibility to drop courses by the week 8 drop date deadline.. Appeals for late drops are typically only granted when a problem occurs, or becomes acute, after the drop deadline and future appeals based on these circumstances will not be granted in the future.

Note that any change in academic registration may impact government or private-firm student financial assistance eligibility and/or funding. Please consult with the Student Awards Office, Office of the University Registrar, Gordon Hall, to understand the potential implications of changes to course or program registration and/or the consequences of not successfully completing the required course load.

Best of luck in your degree progression.

Yours sincerely,

Jenn Stephenson, Ph.D.
Associate Dean (Academic)
