Year: 2020
Category: Request aegrotat (AG) standing in a course or courses
Instructor: Reena Kukreja

Dear Maya Kotsovolo:

I was sorry to read of the challenges you have outlined and I have reviewed your appeal to change the grade you received in DEVS 260 (W 2020) to Aegrotat standing based on those circumstances. After careful consideration of the documentation you submitted and the supportive information I have received from the instructor, I have decided to grant your appeal.

The instructor has submitted a replacement grade based on the work you have completed and your grade in DEVS 260 will appear on your transcript as B+ along with the notation €œAegrotat: estimated grade€.

I encourage you to continue to seek support from Student Wellness Services and your QSAS Advisor to help you manage both your health and academics. I realize that this current request is due to situation which arose once you returned home due to the current pandemic, but a good practice for all students going forward is to evaluate the impact of your health on your studies prior to week 8 of term and to drop courses if necessary at that time.

Note that any change in academic registration may impact government or private-firm student financial assistance eligibility and/or funding. Please consult with the Student Awards Office, Office of the University Registrar, Gordon Hall, to understand the potential implications of changes to course or program registration and/or the consequences of not successfully completing the required course load.

Best of luck in your continued degree progression

Yours sincerely,

Jenn Stephenson, Ph.D.
