Dear Holly Lorenzon:

I was sorry to read of the challenges you outlined in our letter of appeal and I have carefully considered your appeal to drop HIST 214, LAW 202 (S 2019) and DEVS 340, DEVS 392, DEVS 492 (F 2019) past the academic deadline. After reviewing your file, I have decided to grant your request.

Holly I encourage you to continue to monitor your health and am optimistic that you will return to your studies and upgrade your BA to a BAH when you are able to do so. I am confident that in the future, upon your return, you will make every effort to inform yourself of the academic regulations concerning deadlines as they are outlined in the Important Dates section on the Arts and Science web page. Please ensure you assess your progress in your courses or discuss your options with an Academic Advisor during week 7 or 8 of the term. If you find that you have fallen behind in your attendance, readings or assignments, it is your responsibility to drop by the end of week 8. Appeals for late drops are typically only granted when a problem occurs, or becomes acute, after the drop deadline.

Note that any change in academic registration may impact government or private-firm student financial assistance eligibility and/or funding. Please consult with the Student Awards Office, Office of the University Registrar, Gordon Hall, to understand the potential implications of changes to course or program registration and/or the consequences of not successfully completing the required course load.
