Student Name: Matteo van Wees
Student Email: 17mpvw@queensu.ca
Course: HIST 312
Term: Fall/Winter
Year: 2019
Category: Request aegrotat (AG) standing in a course or courses
Instructor: Lisa Pasolli
Dear Matteo van Wees:
I was sorry to read of the health related challenges you outlined in your letter of appeal and I have reviewed your request to change the grade you received in HIST 312 (FW 2018/19) to Aegrotat standing based on those circumstances. After careful consideration of the documentation you submitted and the information I have received from the instructor, I have decided to grant your appeal.
The instructor has submitted a replacement grade based on the work you have completed and your grade in HSIT 312 will appear on your transcript as D- along with the notation €œAegrotat: estimated grade€.
I notice that you indicated you suffered from migraine headaches Matteo, and I encourage you to consider registering with QSAS regarding this chronic condition. A QSAS Advisor may be able to help you manage both your health and academics. I also suggest that you evaluate the impact of your health on your studies prior to week 8 of term and to drop courses if necessary, at that time.
Note that any change in academic registration may impact government or private-firm student financial assistance eligibility and/or funding. Please consult with the Student Awards Office, Office of the University Registrar, Gordon Hall, to understand the potential implications of changes to course or program registration and/or the consequences of not successfully completing the required course load.
Best of luck in your courses during the upcoming year.
Yours sincerely,
Jenn Stephenson, Ph.D.
