Dear Rhys Adams:
As per standard practice, I have reviewed your appeal before it proceeds to the Board of Studies for consideration. Based on the new information you supplied with this appeal, I have decided to change my original decision and grant your request for Credit standing in GPHY 227 and DEVS 354 (W 2020).
I am exercising some leniency with this decision and would like to remind you that you are responsible for all communications from Queen€™s. Not checking email is not considered an extenuating circumstance however I do realize that there were some additional challenges you were facing when you returned home in March.
Rhys, going forward, a good practice for all students is to make every effort to inform themselves of the academic regulations concerning deadlines as they are outlined in Important Dates section on the Arts and Science web page. These deadlines have been established by the Faculty of Arts and Science to ensure a fair and equitable treatment of all students allowing them to drop courses should health or personal issues affect their studies.
Yours sincerely,
Jenn Stephenson, Ph.D.
