Dear Kaylee Morey:

I was sorry to read of the health-related challenges you outlined in your letter and I have reviewed your appeal to drop CHEM 281 (F 2019) after the drop date. After careful consideration of the documentation you submitted, I have decided to grant your appeal.

I have granted this appeal based on the severity of your extenuating circumstances but need to warn you that going forward, you should pause to evaluate the impact of your health on your studies during week 7 of the term. If you have fallen behind in a course or find the material too difficult, you should drop the course by week 8 of term. The drop deadlines, as they have been outlined in the €œImportant Dates€ section on the Arts and Science web page, have been established by the Faculty of Arts and Science to ensure a fair and equitable treatment of all students.

I was happy to read in your appeal letter that you have registered with QSAS so that you can work with an accommodation advisor to help you manage your academics along with your health-related challenges each term. I also want to commend you on your success in your Winter 2020 and Summer 2020 courses.
