I am sorry to have read in your appeal letter the challenges you experienced in your Microbiology course and I have reviewed your appeal to drop MICR 386 (F 2020) after the drop date. After careful consideration of your appeal and the documentation you submitted, I have decided to grant your appeal.

I have granted this appeal based on the confusion related to the platform used where your mid-term grade was posted, but this is a lenient decision Ellen as it is the student€™s responsibility to ensure they accurately assess their progress in a course prior to the drop date deadline. The drop deadlines, as they have been outlined in the €œImportant Dates€ section on the Arts and Science web page, have been established by the Faculty of Arts and Science to ensure a fair and equitable treatment of all students and to facilitate the timely completion of university studies at Queen's.

Note that any change in academic registration may impact government or private-firm student financial assistance eligibility and/or funding. Please consult with the Student Awards Office, Office of the University Registrar, Gordon Hall, to understand the potential implications of changes to course or program registration and/or the consequences of not successfully completing the required course load.
