Dear William Melanson-O€™Neill:

I was sorry to read about the incident involving your father and the impact that this situation has had on your academics. I have carefully considered your appeal to drop CISC 251, CISC 422, and CISC 324 (Fall 2020) past the academic deadline and, after reviewing your file, I have decided to grant your request.

I would like to note that I have exercised some leniency in this decision as you mentioned in your letter that both your father€™s accident and your subsequent illness occurred before the Fall term drop deadline. I acknowledge how these issues have continued to impact you but going forward I expect that you will carefully evaluate the impact of your situation on your courses prior to the academic week 8 drop deadline and drop classes if you find that you cannot keep up with their academic demands.

Note that any change in academic registration may impact government or private-firm student financial assistance eligibility and/or funding. Please consult with the Student Awards Office, Office of the University Registrar, Gordon Hall, to understand the potential implications of changes to course or program registration and/or the consequences of not successfully completing the required course load.
