I was sorry to read of the health-related challenges you are dealing with and I have reviewed your appeal to change the grades you received in MATH 221, ENIN 200 and ECON 112 (F 2020) to Aegrotat standing based on those circumstances. After careful consideration of the documentation you submitted and the information I have received from the instructors, I have decided the following:
€¢ To grant your appeal for AG standing in MATH 221. The instructor has submitted a replacement grade based on the work you have completed and your grade in this course will appear on your transcript as D along with the notation €œAegrotat: estimated grade€.
€¢ To grant your appeal for AG standing in ENIN 200. The instructor has submitted a replacement grade based on the work you have completed and your grade in this course will appear on your transcript as B- along with the notation €œAegrotat: estimated grade€.
€¢ To deny your request for AG standing in ECON 112. Academic Regulation 10.3.1. states that, Aegrotat estimated standing in a course is reserved for situations in which a student, who has completed and passed at least 60 of the work for a course, but because of illness or other extenuating circumstances beyond his or her control, is unable to complete all the work of the course (see Academic Regulation 6)€.
The information we received from your instructor advised that you have not completed 60 of the course work in this course since the final exam is worth 50 so Aegrotat standing is not an option. I am however willing to drop this course late based on your circumstances outlined and the documentation you have provided. If you would like to accept this offer, please email asc.appeals@queensu.ca within 21 days of receiving this letter and we will make the appropriate change to your transcript.
€¢ With regards to PHYS 104, this is a full year course and you have until March 5, 2021 to drop that course if you are unable to mange the course work. You may want to request Academic Consideration for this course if you require extensions due to your extenuating circumstances.
