I am sorry to read in your letter of appeal that you have encountered challenges during the Fall term which impacted your courses. I have carefully considered your appeal to drop ANAT 100 and STAT 263 (F 2020) past the academic deadline and after reviewing your appeal, I have decided to grant your request.
I have exercised significant leniency in this decision, acknowledging the difficult challenges you have been facing. I am also pleased to see that you have reached out to the Therapy Assistance Online (TAO) program. Going forward, I suggest that you consider using the supports the university has available including requesting Academic Consideration for extensions in course work if necessary, as well as the support services offered through Student Wellness Services to help you through difficult circumstances.
A good practice for all students Ziqi is to pause and evaluate your progress in your courses prior to the drop date deadlines and assess whether you are actively engaged in your courses and are completing your assignments on time. If not, you should drop any courses in which you have fallen behind by the drop deadline. Appeals for late drops are generally reserved for those who encounter problems after week 8 or whose problems become more acute and is not meant to manage ongoing conditions.
Note that any change in academic registration may impact government or private-firm student financial assistance eligibility and/or funding. Please consult with the Student Awards Office, Office of the University Registrar, Gordon Hall, to understand the potential implications of changes to course or program registration and/or the consequences of not successfully completing the required course load.
