Dear Van Veecock:

I have carefully considered your appeal to drop PSYC (FW 2018/2019), MUSC 104, MUSC 180, MUTH 110, SOCY 200, SOCY 275 (F 2019), MUSC 289, MUTH 289, SOCY 235, SOCY 276 and SOCY 284 (W 2020) after the academic deadline. After reviewing your file I have decided the following:

1. To grant your request to drop MUSC 104, MUSC 180, MUTH 110, SOCY 200, SOCY 275 (F 2019), MUSC 289, MUTH 289, SOCY 235, SOCY 276 and SOCY 284 (W 2020) after the academic deadline. Your grade in these courses will be replaced with a €DR€™ notation.

2. To deny your request to drop PSYC 100 (FW 2018/2019). As you know, courses must be dropped on SOLUS within the published deadlines. The Academic Regulations (Appeal of Academic Decisions, IIIb) stress that exceptions to this will only be waived under extenuating circumstances. The integrity of Arts and Science transcripts in general would be greatly diminished if the Faculty were to effect changes to students€™ records without clear and compelling documentation indicating that the student€™s performance was significantly compromised by circumstances beyond his or her control. Your appeal letter indicates that your health issues began to impact your classes in the Fall of 2019. Without additional information and supporting documentation to verify an impact prior to that term, I simply cannot waive this requirement at this time.
