Dear William Ippolito Graham:

I was sorry to read in your letter of appeal the difficult circumstances you outlined, and I have carefully considered your appeal to drop SOCY 122 (FW 2020/21) and PSYC 236, PHIL 256 (W 2021) past the academic deadline. After reviewing your file, I have decided to grant your request.

I have granted this appeal based on the circumstances outlined as well as your documentation. I encourage you to continue to seek support from the Queen's Sexual Violence Prevention and Response Office and to continue to work with your health care team. I suggest that you discuss with your support network the possibility of registering with QSAS as a QSAS Advisor can assist you with implementing accommodations that may be able to help you manage both your health and your academics.

Going forward, you should carefully assess your progress in your courses during week 7 or 8 of the term. If you find that you have fallen behind in your attendance, readings or assignments, it is your responsibility to drop courses by the end of week 8. Appeals for late drops are typically only granted when a problem occurs, or becomes acute, after the drop deadline.

Note that any change in academic registration may impact government or private-firm student financial assistance eligibility and/or funding. Please consult with the Student Awards Office, Office of the University Registrar, Gordon Hall, to understand the potential implications of changes to course or program registration and/or the consequences of not successfully completing the required course load.
