Dear Callum McCormack,

I am sorry to have read in your appeal letter the challenges you experienced during Winter term and I have reviewed your appeal to change the grade you received in ECON 222 (W 2021) to Credit standing. After careful consideration of the documentation you submitted and the information supplied by the instructor about the circumstances surrounding this course, I have decided to grant your appeal.

Your grade in this course will appear on your transcript as CR.

Callum, I do need to warn you that the appeals process is not meant to be used to manage a chronic condition. Instead, students should register with QSAS and work with an accommodation advisor to help manage their academics. You should also pause and evaluate the impact of your health on your studies prior to week 8 of term. The week 8 drop deadlines, as they have been outlined in the €œImportant Dates€ section on the Arts and Science web page, have been established by the Faculty of Arts and Science to ensure a fair and equitable treatment of all students and to facilitate the timely completion of university studies at Queen's.

I am also pleased to have read that you are working with your ECON 250 instructor to complete the balance of the requirements in that course over the summer term.

Sincerely,

Jenn Stephenson, Ph.D.
Associate Dean (Academic)
