Decision Letter
Appeal Number: 7728
Decision Date: May 25, 2021
Associate Dean: Jenn Stephenson, Ph.D.
Student Name: Ellen Ford
Student Email: 17ejlf@queensu.ca
Course: MATH 387
Term: Winter
Year: 2021
Category: Drop a course after the academic deadline
Dear Ellen Ford:
I was sorry to read of the circumstances you outlined in your letter of appeal. No doubt this has been difficult to deal with and I will grant your appeal to drop MATH 387 (W 2021) past the academic deadline based on that circumstance and your documentation.
Ellen, I encourage you to continue to reach out to the various services available to assist you including your counsellor at Student Wellness and QSAS.
Going forward, a good practise for all students is to pause and evaluate your progress in courses during week 7 of the term and if you have been unable to keep up with the course requirements or feel that dropping a course is in your best interest, you should do so by the week 8 drop date deadline.
Note that any change in academic registration may impact government or private-firm student financial assistance eligibility and/or funding. Please consult with the Student Awards Office, Office of the University Registrar, Gordon Hall, to understand the potential implications of changes to course or program registration and/or the consequences of not successfully completing the required course load.
Yours sincerely,
Jenn Stephenson, Ph.D.
