Your request to apply for Letters of Permission for more than 6.0 units during the 2021/2022 Academic year has been approved on behalf of the Associate Dean (Academic).
As you know, Regulation 14.4 indicates that ??normally the last two years of the Honours degree are taken in the Faculty of Arts and Science at Queen??s.? However, after reviewing your file, we will allow you to apply for 6.0 units of electives at Shanghai Jiaotong University in addition to the 15.0 units of courses that you are enrolled in at Queen??s University to total 21.0 units for the 2021 Fall term. We will also allow you to apply for 3.0 units of Computing courses at Athabasca University in addition to the 15.0 units of courses that you are enrolled in at Queen??s University to total 18.0 units for the 2022 Winter term.
Please know that this is a very heavy course load. If you find that this is more than you can handle, please be sure to drop courses by the published deadline(s). Also, choosing to take more than the recommended number of classes does not constitute sufficient grounds to appeal to retroactively drop a class after the deadline to drop, nor to request extensions to deadlines.
Also, a maximum of 57.0 transfer units can be included within the total units required for a Bachelor of Computing Honours degree program (see Academic Regulation 16.1.3).
You may now apply for your Letters of Permission. We would strongly suggest that you remain closely connected with the International Programs Office so that you can be made aware of potential disruptions to your international studies if they shall happen.
Note that official transcripts with final grades must be received by the International Programs Office (ILOP) and the Faculty of Arts and Science Student Services office (LOP) upon completion of the courses. Please keep in mind that you must achieve a minimum grade of C on each course taken on a Letter of Permission, unless stated otherwise.
