Dear Ms. Park:
I have carefully considered your appeal to drop BIOL 103 (W 2015) past the academic deadline. After reviewing your file, I have decided to grant your request.
I note from your file that you appealed to drop all of your courses in January 2014, asking for €œa second chance€, which was granted. I am now giving you a third chance as it seems that you are continuing to experience mental health challenges. I am encouraged that you did not enrol in classes in the Fall term. However, the drop deadlines are generous and set to allow students up to 8 weeks to determine if they will be able to complete the course successfully or not. If you enrol in further courses you should meet with an academic advisor in the Faculty Office prior to the drop deadline to review your progress and seek assistance in determining whether you will able to complete the course(s).
I hope you will continue to seek treatment and support to resolve your health problems prior to enrolling further.
I expect that in the future you will make every effort to inform yourself of the academic regulations concerning deadlines as they are outlined in Important Dates Section on the Arts and Science web page. These deadlines have been established by the Faculty of Arts and Science to ensure a fair and equitable treatment of all students and to facilitate the timely completion of university studies at Queen's.
Yours sincerely,
Sue Blake
