Dear Ms. Mansfield:

I have carefully considered your appeal to drop GRMN 101 (F 2014) and GEOL 106 (W 2015) past the academic deadline as well as receive Credit standing in CLST 103 (W 2015) and GNDS 120 (F 2014) and Aegrotat standing in BIOL 110, ENGL 100B and PHIL 111B (W 2015). After reviewing your file, I have decided the following:

1. I will grant your request to drop GRMN 101 and GEOL 106 past the academic deadlines.
2. I will grant your request to receive Credit standing in GNDS 120.
3. I will grant your request to receive Aegrotat standing in ENGL 100. Your final grade in this course will appear on your transcript as C+ along with the notation €œAegrotat: Estimated Grade€.
4. I will deny your request for Credit standing in CLST 103. According to your instructor and your transcript, you received a failing grade in this course; therefore, you are not eligible to earn credit for it. However, I would be willing to allow you to drop this course past the academic deadline instead.
5. I will deny your request to receive Aegrotat standing in BIOL 110 and PHIL 111 because you have not completed enough work in either course to be eligible for Aegrotat standing. Professor Snetsinger confirmed that you have completed very little of the required work for BIOL 110 and you did not receive a passing grade on what you did complete. Dr. Knight confirmed that you have completed less than 25 of the required work for PHIL 111. A minimum of 60 per cent of the course must be completed to be eligible for Aegrotat standing. However, given your circumstances I would be willing to allow you to drop both of these courses past the academic deadline instead.

If you wish to accept my offer to drop CLST 103, BIOL 110 and PHIL 111 past the academic deadline, please email asc.appeals@queensu.ca within 21 days of receiving this decision letter to confirm your request. Once it has been received we will make the appropriate changes to your transcript.

If you wish to appeal the Associate Dean€™s decision to the Board of Studies, you must submit an appeal to the Board of Studies within 21 days of the date this decision was sent.
