I am sorry to have read of the passing of your friend and want to offer my condolences. I have carefully considered your appeal for Credit Standing in ASTR 102 (W22). After reviewing your file, I have decided to grant your request.

I have granted this appeal due to the severity and impacts of academic impacts of your extenuating circumstances as confirmed by the documentation that you supplied. Your grade in this class will be replaced with a CR notation.
