Dear Brianna Hayward,

I have carefully considered your appeal to drop LAW 202 and EMPR 230 (S22) past the academic deadline. After reviewing your file, I have decided to grant your request.

I have granted this appeal based on the timeline and impacts of your extenuating circumstances as supported by the documentation that you supplied. Going forward, you should pause to evaluate the impact of your extenuating circumstances on your courses before the drop deadline of each term. If you have fallen behind in a course or find the material too difficult, you should drop it before the deadline. The drop deadlines, as they have been outlined in the ??Important Dates? section on the Arts and Science web page, have been established by the Faculty of Arts and Science to ensure a fair and equitable treatment of all students.

I also suggest that you consider registering with Queen??s Student Accessibility Services (QSAS) if you haven??t done so already so that you can work with an Advisor to help manage the impact of your health on your academics.

Note that any change in academic registration may impact government or private-firm student financial assistance eligibility and/or funding. Please consult with the Student Awards Office, Office of the University Registrar, Gordon Hall, to understand the potential implications of changes to course or program registration and/or the consequences of not successfully completing the required course load.

Sincerely,

Jenn Stephenson, Ph.D.
Associate Dean (Academic)
